Sniffles

::Sniffle::

So I've been sick the past few days, and don't have much to post about, but I did want to update to let you guys know that a winner for the Vega Vibrancy Bar Giveaway will be chosen this Friday, February 19!

Be sure to get your comments in on the Giveaway Post (not this post, please!), and link back if you'd like a second entry! Sorry I forgot to post the end date when I originally posted the giveaway.

What do you do when you're sick? Do you ever take medication? I always try and wait as long as possible to take something, but its hard with having to stand at work all day.

  1. I take medicine if it's really bad, but I try to just fight it with tea and rest. I was sick for a whole week just recently. My boyfriend then got it from me. :( A lot of people in the blogworld seem to be catching something too. It sounds like everyone is getting sick!

  2. We try to avoid over-the-counter meds as much as possible. Our cold cures include echinacea, goldenseal, oregano oil, ginger tea, gypsy cold care tea, & lots of fruit and green smoothies.

    Hope you feel better soon.

  3. Hope you feel better soon! I always wait and think I'll "tough it out" but then I end up taking medicine and think "why did I wait so long?"

  4. I usually take cold meds when I'm sick. I'm sure they're loaded with horrible things, but they make me feel better...and that's enough for me. Of course, I usually try to ward off sickness by eating as much raw garlic and drinking as much orange juice as I can when I feel it coming on. Sometimes it works. Sometimes it doesn't.

  5. Here is what I do for my family and it works every time, I promise...
    1st. get some peppermint tea and make it super strong, add cane sugar to taste (or agave)Drink all day....
    2nd. make a broth of 1 veg. bouillon cube, 1 cup water, 1 clove garlic minced, onion powder, and black pepper. Add something green, I use kale. Drink it when it is super hot.
    3rd. Drink at least 16 oz. fresh orange juice with the pulp, it is essential.

    That is what I have used for flu, colds, strep throat and fevers. It will break a fever, stop sore throats and give you energy..
    I hope it helps!!

  6. If it's sinus congestion I use a nasal rinse at least 2-3 times a day. A neti pot doesn't get through the congestion like a squeeze bottle rinse can. I have definitely prevented sinus infections this way. I also take Mucinex or other generic guiefenisen (sp?) tablets to thin congestion while working. I HATE being stuffy at work, so I'll take decongestant if it's bad.

  7. I am the same way... I try to avoid taking any type of medication at all cost even when I know it will make me feel better quickly. Maybe I just like to make myself suffer for a bit haha,

  12. I swear by pomegranate juice :) Old family secrets include adding pepper to vodka for stomach aches? So I like to add pepper to my oatmeal when I am sick.

    I know youre feeling better but I wanted to comment anyway, better late than never!
